Let's Get Outside

The community of Heartland embraces the natural beauty of the foothills and stays true to its roots, quite literally. Featuring extra wide, landscaped medians and tree lined boulevards, you will feel automatically more at home with the natural elements found throughout Heartland. Plus, with a tree planting program for every owner of a front-drive garage, single-family home, streetscapes and front yards throughout the community are automatically enhanced.

But that's not all. Enjoy walking your dog on the pathway system found throughout Heartland that links together the park spaces, playgrounds and infiltration pond on the southwest corner of the community.

Next to both playgrounds, you will find naturalized space for organic play. Perfect for playing catch or practicing your dribbling, especially in the fields available for future sport programming.

With a unique horseshoe-shaped park designed for early developmental play, watch your little one swing or slide while you rest easy at the picnic tables nearby. Or join the action at the community’s second park, featuring outdoor workout equipment, so even parents can stay active while the kids challenge their balance, climbing, and strength skills amid the playground.

Whether in your own backyard or further afield, fun and fresh air are always part of the plan in Heartland.

Plus, the added benefit of commercial amenities like a gas station, convenience store and even a neighbourhood Tim Hortons are currently under construction at the community’s commercial site. Stay tuned for more details!

Let's Explore Our Surroundings

Location and lifestyle are what it is all about when you call Heartland home. Nestled in quaint and friendly Cochrane, yet only a 15-minute commute to Calgary, this fresh new neighbourhood sits at the gateway to Banff and the Kananaskis.

Imagine a five-minute stroll to the river to walk your dog or to cast a line and catch some peace of mind. Envision being at Ghost Lake in less than 10 minutes to camp, sail, tube and enjoy recreational activities. Further afield visit Big Hill Springs provincial park for a day of hiking or biking and enjoy the sunsets of the Rocky Mountain beyond. Now, it is all within reach.

A bustling town outside the mainstream, Cochrane is a spirited close-knit community of less than 30,000 that celebrates the independent Alberta spirit. Boutiques, arts, festivals, rodeos, golf, paragliding, craft breweries and even world-renowned ice cream give Cochrane its unforgettable flair.

The town is home to schools from both the public and separate school systems, serving Kindergarten through Grade 12 within the Rocky View School Division and Calgary Catholic School District.  Community health care services and hospital access, groceries and shops, family sports centres and pools, historic sites, and libraries all make Cochrane lively and livable.

Plus, Heartland will be home to Cochrane’s new RCMP station, so you can rest easy knowing help is just outside your door.
